Dr. Fritz Baumgartner is a highly skilled thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon. He is Board Certified by both the American Board of surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He earned his medical degree from University of California, Los Angeles in 1984 and served his internship and residency in surgery at the Harbor – UCLA Medical Center. Afterward, he completed a Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the prestigious University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
He is a dedicated, caring professional who considers it a privilege to provide medical care. He believes it is not enough to simply deliver the highest quality medical care possible but rather to do it in a compassionate caring matter. He has performed more than 4,000 thoracoscopic procedures and is regarded as one of the world leaders in his field. He is an active director on various Medical Boards in Southern California and has published many articles in US and International medical journals in the field of cardiothoracic surgery, including articles and chapters in thoracoscopic surgery. Dr. Baumgartner was awarded “America’s Top Surgeons” for 2002-2005 and “America’s Top Physicians” for 2004-2005 by Consumers Research Council of America.
